Destiny 2‘s Season of the Drifter is live and with it, the new Gambit Prime and Reckoning modes are available for Annual Pass owners. Dedicated and returning Guardians are diving into the new gameplay, banking Motes, and earning the Drifter’s approval, but the true reward is the new Gambit Prime armor sets. These role-specific sets of armor (Invader, Sentry, Reaper, Collector) empower Guardians with perks for Gambit Prime, accentuating their playstyle. But earning and powering up Destiny 2‘s new armor sets is another matter entirely.
As Bungie described in early Season of the Drifter breakdowns, the new Destiny 2 armor is earned and empowered through a loop of gameplay leading players back and forth between Gambit Prime and Reckoning. Players will earn a sort of currency in Gambit Prime, craft that currency into a special item and then activate that item in Reckoning. Only after winning in Reckoning will the player receive their armor or upgrade.
This process will be repeated across multiple weeks. Bungie is capping the rate at which players can power up their Prime armor by spacing out the release of Reckoning’s different tiers. This should give Guardians plenty of time to earn their armor without having to grind too much. Earning armor is a straight forward, but deliberate process. Armor upgrade bounties offered from the Drifter, meanwhile, will prove a bit more challenging. Nonetheless, players can definitely manage the tasks between Reckoning tier 2 and 3 releases on March 8 and 15 respectively.
With four armor sets to earn, one for each Gambit Prime role, Guardians have plenty to keep them busy during the Season of the Drifter.
Earning Synths
The first step towards earning Destiny 2‘s new Gambit Prime armor is to go speak to The Drifter, now camped out in the Tower’s Annex. The Drifter will provide the “Who Are You?” quest step tasking the player to pick up a Gambit Prime daily bounty, with one available for each of the four roles. All four can be acquired at the same time, so there’s no need to choose a single role.
Each daily bounty rewards multiple synths for any given role, but synths can also be earned just by playing and winning Gambit Prime. Focus on playing the role of the synth type that you want to earn. Synths are used in a variety of ways to earn and upgrade armor, so having a selection of them available for the roles you’re interested in will be handy.
Also, note that random Synths can be earned in Reckoning, too. It’s a PvE alternative to playing Gambit Prime over and over again, even if it’s not as efficient.
Crafting Motes
After completing their first match of Gambit Prime after talking to the Drifter, Guardians will be given a Weak Synthesizer. The Synthesizer can be considered the middle-man between Gambit Prime and Reckoning with regards to creating and upgrading armor. For armor creation, players will use the Weak Synthesizer to create a role-specific Mote from Synths. These Motes are then taken into Reckoning and activated at the bank at the start, which both determines the Reckoning difficulty tier and its rewards.
As Reckoning tier 2 and 3 are released in the future, higher levels of difficulty will be unlocked which require more powerful Motes to activate. More Synths are required to create more powerful Motes and a more powerful Synthesizer is required, as well. Although it’s not confirmed, it seems like the only way to upgrade the Synthesizer is via a Prime Weekly Bounty. There’s a weekly bounty for each role, so players will be able to upgrade the Weak Synthesizer to a Strong Synthesizer and beyond without diverging from the way they like to play Destiny 2.
Note that Motes aren’t required to participate in Reckoning. It can be entered without them. Also, it doesn’t seem necessary to create low-level Motes for Reckoning. Players can simply wait for Reckoning tier 3 to release and go in without the previous armor sets.
Earning Armor
Upon successful completion of Reckoning, players will go back to the bank where they deposited their Mote and be rewarded a random piece of armor from the set the Mote was made for. Duplicate armor pieces can also be earned, so players may have to play a decent amount of Reckoning and wager a decent amount of Motes to earn a full set. The initial set of armor will have a 635 light level. The second tier is not yet available, as Reckoning tier 2 is still locked, but tier 2 and 3 armor sets should still be earned in the same way.
Alternatively, it seems like the Drifter will also be awarding Gambit Prime armor directly as a reward for completing the Prime Weekly Bounty. Players will be required to wager Motes of a power level akin to their Synthesizer and then win Reckoning matches, as well as complete role-based goals in Gambit Prime. They’ll then be given a specific armor piece for the tier of Reckoning they played and have their Synthesizer upgraded. Each week will then provide a higher tier armor piece.
Players can only earn a first tier piece of armor this week, since completing the weekly is required to upgrade to the second tier. Week one’s armor piece appears to be a helmet.
This is just the first week of the Season of the Drifter, so there’s no need to feel forced into participation. Make the most of the new content for these next several months and take it at a healthy pace. That said, it will take at least two weeks to upgrade the Synthesizer from tier 1 up to tier 3 and then more time afterward to acquire a full set of tier three armor. If there’s a priority to earning the Prime armor sets, it’s completing the weekly. Beyond the weekly, play as much of either Gambit Prime or Reckoning as feels good.
Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
Destiny 2‘s first raid, the Leviathan raid, is the top tier of end-game content in the game. It is both challenging, and rewarding, but only for those who manage to see it through to the end. The list of gear that is exclusive to the raid covers a full set of armor for each class, a class item each, and a weapon of each category. Read on for the full list of Leviathan Raid Gear that can be earned.
How to Acquire Raid Gear
Unlike previous raids, the Leviathan raid has no set loot table. That means that any of the items below can drop from any of the reward chests that spawn after completing a section of the raid. They may also be found inside of the secret raid chests inside the Leviathan’s Underbelly. The most likely way that you’ll acquire this gear, however, is by turning in Emperor Calus Tokens with Benedict 99-40. This sweeper bot turned Leviathan Rewards vendor, will accept these tokens, but only after you have defeated Calus at least once. Fortunately, you may keep collecting tokens, as they do not expire.
Leviathan Raid Weapons
There are eight raid specific Legendary weapons available in the Leviathan raid. Nearly every category of weapon is covered, so everyone should find something they enjoy.
Inaugural Address – Pulse Rifle
Midnight Coup – Hand Cannon
Conspirator – Scout Rifle
Ghost Primus – Auto Rifle
Mob Justice – Submachine Gun

Destiny 2 Forsaken Best Exotic Armor
Pure skill will only be able to take you so far in a game like Destiny 2. Whether you are playing the campaign, facing A.I in PvE, or doing battle in the Crucible, challenging other players in PvP, it is important to have the best exotic armor in Destiny 2 when headed into battle.
The trouble is that the game features a ton of different exotics, with some only belonging to a certain class. So in no particular order, here are the 10 best exotic armor pieces in Destiny 2.
Ophidian Aspect
Whether it is against A.I opponents or other players, speed is always key to winning a firefight in Destiny 2. Ophidian Aspect gives any Warlock the edge when equipped, thanks to the insanely quick weapon ready and reload speed that comes alongside the gauntlet’s Cobra Totemic perk, and it helps it make it on this list of the best exotic armor in Destiny 2.
The quick speed you receive from this exotic works well in tandem with the melee perks as well. Use the increased melee range from Cobra Totemic with the melee damage grenade cooldowns reduction granted by Impact Induction to deal damage from short and long range, making for a dangerous and quick combo, which is why it’s on our list of the best exotic armor in Destiny 2.
Chromatic Fire
Fatebringer is one of the most fun guns to use in the original Destiny, thanks in part to the explosion damage it dealt with each shot. While it may not be in Destiny 2, Chromatic Fire provides a work around for Warlocks, which helps it make our list of the best exotic armor in Destiny 2. For an explosive good time, be sure to pair this chest piece with Cayde-6’s beloved hand cannon, the Ace of Spades,
Using these two in tandem stacks the solar explosion from the Ace of Spades alongside the elemental explosions that occur while using any Kinetic weapons via the Crystalline Transistor perk. It’s important to note that, alongside being powerful, Chromatic Fire is fabulous looking as well, adding incentive to equip it, which is why it’s on our list of the best exotic armor in Destiny 2.
Destiny 2 Forsaken Best Exotic ArmorFr0st-EE5
Fr0st-EE5 is always a reliable set of leg armor to go within Destiny 2 and is one of the few pieces that is still as efficient as it was as before Forsaken. While exotics like Orpheus Rig received a slight perk reduction, Fr0st-EE5 is still amazing at helping Hunters dodge and reset firefights thanks to their speed.
On top of an increased turn radius with Traction, this exotic grants Hunters increased grenade, melee, and dodge regeneration while sprinting. Anytime you dodge, your sprint speed increases, meaning these perks play and stack off each other considerably well, making you difficult to hit or catch in a fight. Rapid Cooldown also recharges grenade and melee cooldown while running, which you’ll likely always be doing subconsciously anyway.
How to mod a ps4 game. Sep 28, 2018 To mod PS4 games first you have to jailbreak your PS4 and don’t worry about it,Just follow Jailbreak PS4. First jailbreak your console and by jaillbreaking i mean install a custom firmware CFW in your console which will give you full administrative and developer rights over your console.
Raiden Flux
No one is ever going to complain about their Super lasting too long, especially when it last long enough to take down a boss single-handedly, it’s because of this that Raiden Flux makes our list of the best exotic armor in Destiny 2. Hunters who equip Raiden Flux can do just that thanks to its Synapse Junctions ability. Whenever Arc Staff is active while wearing this exotic chest armor, damage output and duration will increase with each successful hit. As a result, the Super lasts around 20 seconds, staggering even bosses throughout each hit. This means that you’ll deal out heavy damage while taking very little, which is why it’s on our list of the best exotic armor in Destiny 2.
Phoenix Protocol
Warlocks, have you ever wanted the powerful perks that come alongside the Hunter’s Orpheus Rig for yourself? Then be sure to use Phoenix Protocol. Similar to the Uncanny Arrows perk for Hunters, this chest piece features a perk called Battle-Hearth. Anytime you activate Well of Radiance while wearing Phoenix Protocol, all kills and assist you make while standing inside of it grants your Guardian Super energy lightning fast. This is productive in PvE for Strikes that feature a lot of adds, especially since your friends can help out as well, and because of this, it makes our list of the best exotic armor in Destiny 2.
An Insurmountable Skullfort is one of the best exotic armors in Destiny 2, here’s why.
Striker Titan melee builds should look no further than An Insurmountable Skullfort for an exotic helm. Thanks to Transfusion Matrix, kills with Arc melee abilities trigger health regeneration and restore melee energy. Shoulder charge kills will also instantly refresh your Titan’s melee charge.
If you pair these perks with the Seismic Strike subclass, you’ll be able to refresh grenades almost instantaneously as well thanks to Aftershocks. This combination is great for stacking adds or chaining kills in crucible, which is why it’s one of the best PvP exotics, and one of the best exotic armor in Destiny 2.
Hallowfire Heart
Hallowfire Heart is a perfect chest piece for Titans that love using the Sunbreaker’s solar abilities, especially melee and grenades, which is why it’s on our list of the best exotic armor in Destiny 2. This exotic’s perk, Sunfire Furnace, greatly improves the cooldown for grenades and Melting Point. While you may be tempted to use your Super, holding off on doing so with this piece active is a better route, as the two abilities mentioned above will deal out more damage over time than the hammers would, it’s because of this utility that it makes it one of the best exotic armor in Destiny 2.
One-Eyed Mask
Alongside looking awesome, the One-Eyed Mask is also an amazing Titan helmet, as it grants you some insane buffs for successfully using its main perk, Vengeance, and it makes it one of the best exotic armor in Destiny 2. This perk marks a single enemy that damages you. Once marked, track them down and kill them to get a full heal, an overshield, and increased damage for your Titan. Bow users also gain a nifty edge with the Bow Targeting perk, which improves target acquisition, accuracy, and aim-down-sight speeds for Bows. For perspective, this armor essentially combines the perks of Devour, The Ram, and Foetracer all into one juicy piece, which is why it’s one of the best exotic armor in Destiny 2.
Nezarec’s Sin
Voidwalkers delight, as this exotic helmet is perfect for recharging your abilities, especially your Super, which is why it made the cut for the best exotic armor in Destiny 2. It takes only about 60 seconds to recharge your Warlock’s Nova Bomb when going against opponents in PvE with Nezarec’s Sin equipped, which is insanely quick. All you have to do is activate devour. Once you do, killing four enemies with void abilities or weapons in rapid succession grants gives you your grenade back instantaneously. Stack these together and enough orbs of light drop to where you can get a brand new Super in just under a minute. Combine these with Void Uriel’s for PvP and you’ll be a grenade recharging tank that’ll be hard to take down.
That does it for our list of the best exotic armor in Destiny 2. Let us know your favorites below, and check out the below links for more information on Destiny 2.
Ophidian Aspect (Warlock Gauntlets)
Whether it is against A.I opponents or other players, speed is always key to winning a firefight in Destiny 2. Ophidian Aspect gives any Warlock the edge when equipped, thanks to the insanely quick weapon ready and reload speed that comes alongside the gauntlet’s Cobra Totemic perk. The quick speed you receive from this exotic works perfectly in tandem with the melee perks as well. Use the increased melee range from Cobra Totemic with the melee damage grenade cooldowns reduction granted by Impact Induction to deal damage from short and long range, making for a dangerous and quick combo.
Chromatic Fire (Warlock Chest Armor)
Chromatic Fire is one of the best new Forsaken exotics thanks to its perk which which allows for an elemental explosion damage after each kill from your kinetic weapon based on your subclass. This effectively turns your kinetic weapons into an extra energy slot of sorts. It's important to note that, alongside being powerful, Chromatic Fire is fabulous looking as well, adding incentive to equip it.
Fr0st-EE5 (Hunter Leg Armor)
Fr0st-EE5 is always a reliable set of leg armor to go within Destiny 2 and is one of the few pieces that is still as efficient as it was as before Forsaken. While exotics like Orpheus Rig received a slight perk reduction, Fr0st-EE5 is still amazing at helping Hunters dodge and reset firefights thanks to their speed. On top of an increased turn radius with Traction, this exotic grants Hunters increased grenade, melee, and dodge regeneration while sprinting. Rapid Cooldown also recharges grenade and melee cooldown while running, which you’ll likely always be doing subconsciously anyway.
An Insurmountable Skullfort (Titan Helmet)
Striker Titan PvP melee builds should look no further than Insurmountable Skullfort for an exotic helm. Phoenix Protocol (Warlock Chest Armor)
Considering how popular the new subclass super for Dawnblade is in PvE, having an exotic that enhances it is definitely great to have.
Raiden Flux (Hunter Chest Armor)
No one is ever going to complain about their Super lasting too long, especially when it's enough to take down a boss single-handedly. This means that you’ll deal out heavy damage while taking very little, and keeping some enemies stun-locked.
Hallowfire Heart (Titan Chest Armor)
Hallowfire Heart is a perfect chest piece for Titans that love using the Sunbreaker’s solar abilities, especially grenades. This exotic’s perk, Sunfire Furnace, greatly improves the cooldown for grenades and Hammer Strike AKA Melting Point (if you're running the top tree). While you may be tempted to use your Super, holding off on doing so with this piece active until you really need is a better route, as the two abilities mentioned above will deal out more damage over time than the hammers would.
One-Eyed Mask (Titan Helmet)
Alongside looking awesome, the One-Eyed Mask is an amazing Titan helmet, as it grants you some insane buffs for successfully using its main perk, Vengeance. For perspective, this armor essentially combines the perks of Devour, The Ram, and Foetracer all into one juicy piece.
Lunafaction Boots (Warlock Leg Armor)
Having fully loaded weapons in a gun fight, without having to take the time to reload them is a huge advantage, which makes Lunafaction Boots a great exotic for Warlocks. Thanks to Alchemic Etchings, Warlock’s equipped with this footwear automatically reloads allies’ weapons after stepping through rifts. This stacks perfectly alongside Empowering Rift, which increases weapon damage for those standing inside of the area. Alongside helpful team perks, Perpetuation and Outreach noticeably improve cooldown times for rift abilities.
Nezarec's Sin (Warlock Helmet)
Voidwalkers delight, as this exotic helmet is perfect for recharging your abilities, especially your Super, which is why it made the cut for the best exotic armor in Destiny 2. It takes only about 60 seconds to recharge your Warlock’s Nova Bomb when going against opponents in PvE with Nezarec's Sin equipped, which is insanely quick. All you have to do is activate devour. Once you do, killing four enemies with void abilities or weapons in rapid succession grants gives you your grenade back instantaneously. Stack these together and enough orbs of light drop to where you can get a brand new Super in just under a minute. Combine these with Void Uriel's for PvP and you’ll be a grenade recharging tank that’ll be hard to take down.

Destiny 2 is all about finding newer, better guns scattered throughout the solar system and across its many activities. There are a ton of great weapons already in the game, from Legendary guns you’ll find all over the place and in the Crucible, to highly prized Exotics you can only get from special drops or completing particular quests. And then there are guns that you’ll only find in the game’s six-person Leviathan raid and its new Raid Lairs, and from finishing its super-tough Trials of the Nine multiplayer tournament. From spiffy Exotics with unique perks to unassuming Legendary guns that turn out to be great, here are the best weapons in Destiny 2.
Additional streaming guidesKinetic weaponsMIDA Multi-Tool
You’ll find this Destiny gun after completing the Exotic quest you pick up in Earth’s EDZ, once you’ve completed the series of Quest missions that unlock after the main story campaign is complete. A scout rifle designed for quick movement and quicker reactions, it does serious damage when you ping headshots, whether you’re running around various planets or aiming at other players in the Crucible.
MIDA Multi-Tool has two primary benefits: When you’re aiming down the sights with this gun, your radar will remain active, allowing you to see incoming threats from other directions. It also has a perk that increases your movement speed when it’s equipped, and reloads super fast after you score a precision kill. It’s great for dealing high damage from afar with hit-and-run attacks before you get away from danger that would have otherwise caught you off guard.
Rat King
This Exotic weapon can be a handful to unlock, mostly because you need a pal who is also either doing the Rat King quest or has already unlocked the gun in order to receive it. You’ll receive the quest when you complete the Quest line on Titan after the story unlocks. It’s presented as a series of riddles, but the gist is, you need to complete Patrols, Public Events, Crucible matches, and the Nightfall with another player using Rat King. For the Nightfall, you need to finish it with five minutes or more on the timer.
Rat King is a pretty killer sidearm, with a quick firing rate and decent stability. Notch a kill with it and hit the reload button, and it’ll make you temporarily invisible, which is great for emergencies — especially in the Leviathan raid, which is full of swarms of tough enemies. But the best perk is that the more people on your team with Rat King, the stronger it becomes when you’re together. That means if you can get three (or even six in the raid) Fireteam members all equipped with Rat King, you increase its effectiveness significantly. Needless to say, it’s worth the struggle to unlock it.
Sweet Business
Hidden among regular auto rifles in Destiny 2 are firearms that are basically miniguns, and Sweet Business is one of the coolest. Sporting a magazine of 100 rounds, it’s great for melting big enemies by dumping a ton of ammo into them. You’ll also want to deploy it on tough missions with lots of enemies, such as Nightfalls, because it’s great for firing into a crowd and leaving nothing behind.
The longer you hold down the trigger on Sweet Business, the more powerful and more stable it becomes, so it pays to pick a target (or a few) and just unload on them. It doesn’t carry too much ammo — you’ll only be able to reload it two or so times before you need to hunt for ammo — but if you pick up ammo while firing, the gun will load it directly into the magazine. With increased hip-fire stability, this means you can walk around like Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator 2, mowing things down with your minigun while grabbing spare ammo to keep the party going.
Vigilance Wing
This Exotic pulse rifle, which comes from random drops, is great for modes like Trials of the Nine, the Crucible, and Strikes where you’ll have a team with you. Its primary bonus is that, instead of firing a three-round burst, it fires five. If you’re a precise shooter, you can wreck enemies with it, and Crucible players will go down quicker than they expect thanks to the extra two rounds hitting them in the dome.
The Fireteam perks that come with Vigilance Wing are pretty cool as well. When a team member is killed, Vigilance Wing’s Harsh Truths perk restarts your health regeneration immediately and increases your movement speed, making it great for running to get resurrect teammates. You’ll also receive increased weapon performance when your teammates are all dead with the Last Stand perk, giving you more chances to make a comeback.
Sturm
This Exotic hand cannon comes from a quest you’ll earn after completing the three Quest missions that unlock on Nessus after finishing the main story campaign. On its own, Sturm is a bit of a letdown. It fires high-damage, high-impact rounds at good range, but its slow fire rate means you need to hang back to use it effectively.
Sturm’s a decent weapon, but its major perks come from the weapon you pair it with, Drang. Even if you don’t use Drang, Sturm has the benefit of automatically reloading your Energy weapon as you use the hand cannon to rack up kills, so you can quickly go from one weapon to the next without stopping to reload.
Origin Story
This Legendary auto rifle might pop up when you turn in Reputation tokens in the Tower, and it’s a pretty great gun to have around, especially when you need something solid to free up an Exotic slot for one of your other weapons. The Vanguard weapon is a reliable auto rifle with low recoil and good range, making it a great middle-of-the-road option for both the Crucible and fighting enemies around Destiny 2.
Rampage is the perk of note for Origin Story. As you notch kills with the gun, Rampage gives Origin Story a big damage increase that’ll stack up to three times. This makes it great in a variety of situations, especially if you can knock out several targets quickly. You can also opt for either the Flared Magwell perk, which increases reload speed significantly, or an Extended Magazine, depending on your style.
Garden Progeny 1
The first gun to come out of Curse of Osiris‘ lengthy series of Prophecy Tablet quests, which are only available once you’ve cleared most of the content in the expansion, is actually pretty good. Garden Progeny 1 is a weird-looking scout rifle that fires slowly, but hits very hard, and doesn’t have a ton of kickback. That makes it great for landing headshots from well out of the fight.
Garden Progeny 1 is pretty effective both in the course of story missions and in the Crucible. It makes for a great long-range alternative to an auto rifle, and while it might not be quite as effective as MIDA Multi-Tool, it’s a more versatile option that makes you effective at multiple ranges. You’ll get it from your first Lost Prophecy tablet — here’s a full guide on how to unlock it and the rest of the Lost Prophecy weapons.
Crimson
Crimson is one of those truly unique exotic guns, with all kinds of perks that set it apart from anything else. Banned Weapon gives Crimson, a hand cannon, a three-round burst rather than the weapon class’ standard, slow-firing shot. Cruel Remedy heals you every time Crimson bags a kill. If it’s a precision kill, you get more ammo in the magazine. That’s kind of ridiculous.
With those crazy perks, Crimson is great both in and out of the Crucible. The three-round burst aspect is especially helpful when you bring it to bear against other players, while the healing and reload perks make Crimson great for extended battles against hordes of aliens.
Like most of these weapons, you’ll find Crimson in an Exotic engram, or as a Powerful Milestone reward. As of the Warmind expansion, you can also unlock a Masterwork version of Crimson, which also will drop randomly in the world while you’re killing enemies.
Braytech Winter Wolf
Speaking of auto rifles, there’s another great one hidden in Warmind. The Braytech Winter Wolf is notable because it’s just so damn easy to use. A very stable, long-range auto rifle, the Winter Wolf comes with a precision frame that makes the kind of gun that lets you put bullet after bullet into the enemy’s head without having to struggle to stay on target. It’s also geared to dish out a lot of damage over time, with perks including Armor Piercing Rounds and High-Impact Reserves, making the gun great against shields and especially effective toward the end of the clip. In general, the Winter Wolf is effective from far away, packs a lot of damage and doesn’t kick around a lot, making it a great primary weapon both out in the world and in the Crucible.
You can find the Winter Wolf after unlocking the encrypted nodes scattered around Hellas Basin, which you can open once you gather up Resonant Stems. Those nodes have a chance to send you back to Ana Bray with an item you can trade in for one of her winter-themed weapons, and there’s a one-in-five chance it’ll be the Winter Wolf.
